In 1983 Rosario Hernandez, Maria Helena Manjarrés and Elvira Martinez Marrugo thought of an idea to open a preschool, and decided to define the location that the educative center would take shape. It was thought to be in the neighborhood of Blas de Lezo or in the neighborhood Manga. At that moment the three women were students of preschool education and were motivated by the pedagogical practices that they were studying.
Then in the neighborhood of Manga they searched for different options of houses that fulfilled the requirements of being a big house, comfortable and spacious and also being in a great location. Therefore, they decided on the area known as La Cabaña of the neighborhood Manga and, having a big potential for kids, it was named Cabañita Kindergarten. They didn’t limit themselves to the neighbourhood kids, however. They kept searching in other areas and other neighborhoods and developed an intensive program of marketing trying to find students. They relied on experts to give shape to the project.
